Viseu Dão-Lafões Intermunicipal Climate Change Adaptation Plan
The Viseu Dão-Lafões Intermunicipal Climate Change Adaptation Plan covers the 14 municipalities of the Viseu Dão-Lafões region. It aims to promote climate change adaptation into inter-municipal and municipal planning and thus create a culture of adaptation across the various regional sectors, strengthening territorial resilience.
The plan is a pivotal instrument to prepare the communities and its public and private stakeholders for common regional adaptive pathways, starting with adaptation to short-term climate variability and to extreme climate events that already affect this territory, reducing the long-term vulnerability.
The methodological process was accompanied by a communication plan that, through various means and communication actions, aimed to involve multiple target audiences in drawing up the plan and building a common adaptive pathway for this territory. A training program on adaptation to climate change for municipal official was also implemented, which included training workshops with national experts.
The Climate Change Adaptation Plan was developed by a technical team led by CEDRU, which included specialists from the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon, We Consultants, the University of Aveiro, and TIS.pt.
