The FOOTPRINT project is motivated by the urgent global need to shift the tourism industry towards sustainability. Fuelled by a growing awareness of environmental issues and the imperative of responsible travel, the project aims to transform the tourism sector in partner countries. Recognising the diverse cultural and regional contexts, FOOTPRINT seeks to empower VET trainers, entrepreneurs and managers with tailored resources, promoting the transition to sustainable tourism business models.
FOOTPRINT will develop five complementary outcomes:
• CPD programme for VET trainers to develop their green tourism skills
• Training programme for entrepreneurs to encourage the transition to green tourism
• Guiding Principles of Practice to support the transition to sustainable tourism business models
• Country-specific support guides with local best practices to showcase three main niche sustainable tourism sectors
• Transnational training events for VET trainers
